AOHi Wireless Charging Station*1 VIP

The Space Race continues… Soon we will reach Mars.
But will we have enough phone battery to last us the whole trip?
We need a proper charge to document our journey, and it looks like we got era appropriate charging dock.
In this review we will be going over the AOHi: Build-it-yourself Space-themed Charging Dock, to see if this is just flair, or a gadget worthy of docking on your work desk.
The Product
Innovation
Is this a truly new product that you can’t find on the market? Or this is a product that defines an entirely new product category. In some cases, combining several features into one or introducing a new feature to an old product is also considered an innovation.
Cool-looking charging products are nothing new. But how many of them look as cool as the AOHi? The portable wireless charging power bank called the Curvature Falcon (ring a bell?) magnetically connects to your phone, tablet, or gaming device to deliver 5,000mah of power on demand.
And what’s that, the maneuvering UFO on the dock stand is also a wireless charger? A whole fleet of spacecrafts are ready to keep the power coming.
What we loved most about the AOHi is the attention to detail. The subtle ambient lighting, the see-through coil, and the best part, the DIY assembly. You don’t need to be breaking barriers in tech when your design is already out of this world.
Competitiveness
How much better is it than the competition? Is it faster? Bigger? Cooler? More affordable? There needs to be a solid reason why you should back this project over any other.

Remember how just a few decades ago we thought the future was going to have pretty lights everywhere, lots of wires going around, a bunch of buttons to push, and different kinds of metal everywhere? Well, Apple changed all of that and gave us the highly copied sleek metallic finish box with no buttons, ports, or any character.
Now here comes a charging station that stays true to the future our ancestors (us 10 years ago) imagined. Tacky lights, movable pieces, and something we haven’t done in years put something together.
Fast Charging is Fast Charging. Most devices still operate at an industry standard of 5W wireless charging so going over won’t do anything but overheat your device and cause problems.
The added power bank is a great addition that provides synergy with the doc. Not many charging docks come with their own matching power banks. Actually, not many charging docs have a cool theme at all.
The Team
Reliability
How capable is the team? Have they developed something like this before? Do they have crowdfunding experience? Manufacturing experience? A lot of campaigns fail to deliver their product because they don’t know what they’re doing.
On AOHi’s website, you will notice a theme, charging. It is what they do. They specialize in fast-charging equipment and really have put some thought into their design. So it isn’t surprising that they come out with a futuristic space fast charging dock.
This isn’t AOHi’s first rodeo. Just a few months ago in December of 2022, they launched Modular Extension USB-C Cable Set For Fast Charging (very creative name I know), a set of USB-C cables that connected to each other for a charging wire of any length you need. There were consistent updates and there are a great deal of backers in the comments discussing the product they received
Overall it was well received and I got to hand it to them. Delivering a product in about 4 months is tough work.
Attitude
How transparent are the campaigners? Do they give their backers valuable updates on their progress? Do they engage with their backers? Crowdfunding is all about community, sharing information, and building meaningful relationships with the people who fund your project.
This campaign just started but we already have a few comments asking for higher-powered charging capabilities. The team responded with it being too risky given the exposed design choice being susceptible to high heat transfers.
English isn’t their strong suit, but design transcends all barriers. We hope to see a product review in action from a third party, but no big red flags yet. Wireless fast-charging docs and power banks are not new technology.
Conclusion
Is your wallpaper already of the infinite abyss? Do you have Star Trek posters on your wall or cool ambient lighting? Let your desk rock some of its own flairs. AOHi really came through with a space-age wireless charging dock that brings a refreshing style of design while still meeting industry standards of fast charging.
Are you ready to dock captain?
